Unsubscribe Contact marks the contact as unsubscribed and only they can restore the active status by clicking an activation link, which makes it the right call for a customer-initiated opt-out. Exclude Contact from Lists removes them from lists and allows a later re-add through Subscribe Contact to Lists, which UniSender recommends when the sender is driving the change.
