Setup, permissions, and the limits of what Lyro can do inside Fixer.

  • Lyro calls Get Latest Exchange Rates at the moment the question is asked, so the number comes from Fixer's live feed rather than a table cached on our side. How often that feed refreshes, and which base currency the key may set, follow the Fixer plan behind the API key you connect.

  • The toolkit exposes three read actions - Get Latest Exchange Rates, Get Historical Rates, and Get Supported Symbols - and no dedicated conversion endpoint. Lyro fetches the rate and applies it to the amount in the conversation, so the customer still gets a converted figure, but it is derived from the rate Fixer returned rather than from a Fixer conversion call.

  • Your own. Every call runs against the Fixer API key you connect, so the requests count against that plan's allowance rather than a separate Lyro pool. If a lookup fails because the key is exhausted, the conversation is handed to a human agent with the full history attached rather than answered with a stale figure.

  • Yes. Lyro chooses its actions while the conversation is still open, so a rate returned by Get Latest Exchange Rates can go straight into the next thing it does - quoting a refund amount, noting the figure on a ticket in your help desk - rather than ending as a standalone lookup.
