Do any of these actions need a paid Convolo.ai plan?

Two of them do. Evaluate Character Performance requires a Professional Plan or higher, and Upload Knowledge Bank File is Enterprise only. Character creation, voice listing, response generation, starter suggestions, and core AI settings carry no stated plan restriction.

What does Lyro need in place before it can evaluate a session?

Three things: a session_id returned by Get Character Response, a character_id from Create Character, and an evaluation prompt containing the [[conversation_history]] placeholder. Lyro chains those in order, which is why grading normally follows a live session rather than being run against a character in isolation.

Can Lyro change the model behind a character without rebuilding it?

Yes. Set Core AI Settings updates the model group, the temperature, or both on an existing character ID, with temperature running from 0.0 for deterministic replies to 1.0 for creative ones. The backstory, voice, and configured actions stay as they were.
