API2PDF deletes generated PDFs automatically after 24 hours, and merged or reordered files are served from a download URL for that same window. When a document should not sit there that long, Lyro calls Delete PDF with the ResponseId returned by the generation step and removes it immediately.

Can Lyro turn a live web page into a PDF through API2PDF?

Not with the actions this toolkit exposes. Conversion starts either from HTML you supply, through Add Header Footer, or from an existing PDF reachable at a URL, through Merge PDFs, Extract PDF Pages, Reorder PDF Pages and Optimize PDF. Nothing here crawls a page and renders it.

Do the source files need to be publicly reachable?

For the PDF-to-PDF actions, yes. Merge PDFs takes a list of publicly accessible PDF URLs, and the extract, reorder and optimize actions each take a URL to the source document, so a file behind a login needs a signed or public link before Lyro can act on it.

Does checking whether API2PDF is up consume our API key?

No. Check API Status requires no authentication and returns a simple status indicator, so Lyro can confirm the service is responding before spending a conversion on a request that would fail anyway.
