Why does Lyro re-read the credentials instead of caching them?

Get Account Credentials pulls the username and license code out of the connection metadata, and those values can go stale. Calling it before each recognition or account lookup avoids a run failing on credentials that were valid an hour ago.

Why would the processing log come back empty?

OCR Web Service Log returns empty data rather than an error when the credentials are invalid or the date range is wrong. So an empty result usually points at the inputs, not at an account that processed nothing.

Can Lyro store or file the text it extracts?

Not within this toolkit. Recognition returns text, an output document, word coordinates and any errors, and the other three actions are credential and account reads. Filing the result somewhere means chaining a storage or help desk tool that Lyro is also connected to.
