Can Lyro buy a ticket or reserve a seat on BART?

No. This toolkit is entirely read-only - schedules, fares, stations, routes, advisories, and the GTFS feeds, with no purchase, reservation, or account action anywhere in it. Lyro can quote the exact Clipper and cash fare for a trip through Get BART Fare, but the payment still happens at the gate or in Clipper.

How does Lyro know which BART station a rider means?

By its four-letter abbreviation, which is what the station actions take: EMBR for Embarcadero, MONT for Montgomery Street, 12TH for 12th Street Oakland. Get BART Stations returns the full list with codes, coordinates, and addresses, so Lyro resolves a spoken station name to its code before asking for departures.

Why do some BART responses come back unreadable?

Two of them are binary. Get GTFS-RT Service Alerts and Get GTFS-RT Trip Updates return raw GTFS-Realtime protobuf intended for a transit application, and Download GTFS Static Schedule Feed returns a ZIP of CSV files. For a conversational answer Lyro uses Get Service Advisories and Get Estimated Departures, which come back as plain data.

Is elevator status reported per station or system-wide?

System-wide. Get Elevator Status returns current elevator availability across all BART stations in a single call, so Lyro can answer an accessibility question for a whole route at once. Station-level detail such as bike parking, lockers, and entering and exiting instructions comes from Get Station Access.
