A lean team against seasonal spikes

Burker sells watches and jewelry globally from a Shopify store, with around 20 employees and about 450K monthly visitors. Two in-house people cover Instagram and TikTok. An outsourced team in the Netherlands runs the email queue.

Baseline volume of 3,000–5,000 messages a month rose to as many as 17,000 during Black Friday, Valentine's Day and seasonal sales. Most of it was order status and sizing. The website live chat was switched off because the volume was unsustainable.

“The metrics speak for themselves. Lyro stops the repetitive questions from ever reaching our team. Clients get an immediate answer in their own language, at any hour. That’s exactly what we needed.”
Daria Nifontova · Head of Customer Service, Burker

Lyro took the first line. The outsourced team kept the rest.

Burker started testing Lyro in March as the live chat on its website. Lyro resolves what it can and passes the rest straight into the outsourced team's ticketing system.

What changed day to day

  • Repetitive questions stop early

Order status, shipping timelines and sizing questions get answered before they reach the outsourced team. Week over week, inbound volume fell 15–20%.

  • Live chat is back on the site

The widget had been switched off entirely, leaving customers a contact form. With Lyro handling incoming conversations, the website has live chat again.

  • Every language, not five

Gorgias supported roughly five European languages at the time of evaluation. Lyro answers in the customer's own language, which is how Burker wanted to communicate.

  • 15 new markets, less support load

Burker expanded into 15 new markets while total support traffic fell. Lyro's proactive Flows and self-service coverage absorbed most of that growth.

Burker didn't add headcount. It put Lyro in front of the queue.

The Shopping Assistant is next, but only once Burker's Shopify product data is clean enough to tell near-identical models like the Macy and Macy Petite apart. The team plans to start with the jewelry collection before rolling it out to watches.
